Agfa has no plans
EFI will integrate Agfa's hybrid solutions into its solutions but the companies have no plans to merge

Agfa has relaunched and redesigned Anapurna H3200 hybrid printer.

The Anapurna H3200 hybrid wide format printer will replace the existing H3200i LED. The company will show the new model at Fespa Global Print Expo next month in Amsterdam.

Phillip Burns, sales manager for Agfa in Australia, believes the will excite local printers with 70 per cent higher speed. He says, “The first generation of Anapurna products was launched almost 20 years ago. This latest generation offers higher speed and higher resolution with a reassuringly well-known platform that will make local printers and more productive while also offering lower cost and Greenguard certified printing inks.

“This new version of the Anapurna H3200 delivers a 70 per cent increase in speed compared to its predecessor in Production Mode.

“Equipped with a new protective closure, the new design of the Anapurna H3200 has also been specifically created to provide printers with a safer working environment.”

Important evolution

Philip Van der Auwera, product manager – sign and display at Agfa, says the Anapurna H3200 has completed an important evolution over the last two decades. He explains, “Renowned for its exceptional versatility and unwavering reliability, the new version of the Anapurna H3200 now combines these attributes with a boost in productivity and improved quality. This step underscores Agfa’s commitment to innovation and delivering top-notch solutions that align with the evolving needs of our customers.”

“Like its predecessor, the Anapurna H3200 features a six-colour plus white ink set and UV LED curing. However, both the print shuttle and print engine itself have been redesigned to achieve a significant productivity increase.

“Its fast firing print heads ensure rapid throughput, up to 66 square metres per hour in production mode, and superior print quality on flexible and rigid materials alike. Additionally, the printer’s newly implemented continuous board feeding capacity enables efficient printing on rigid materials, with the capability to print up to four boards printed simultaneously.”

“The enhanced print shuttle also contributes to improved image quality, particularly noticeably in darker solid tones. The Anapurna excels in delivering high-quality prints across a spectrum of applications, from uncoated rigid media like corrugated boards and plastics to roll media such as film, vinyl, banners, canvas, and coated textiles. Its Greenguard Gold-certified inks deliver high colour vibrancy and a broad colour gamut, while Agfa’s patented Thin Ink Layer technology ensures minimal ink consumption.”

Recently, Agfa and EFI announced they had entered a global strategic partnership aimed at “leveraging each other’s cutting-edge technologies to launch at Fespa Amsterdam in March”.

A joint statement issued simultaneously in Belgium and USA by both businesses described the collaboration between two industry leaders as a significant milestone in the wide-format inkjet printing sector.
