Alex Peters Machinery is poised to expand its second hand machinery business to include selling new printing equipment, including presses and consumables
Alex Peters says that the company has been approached by several leading suppliers of new printing equipment and is considering its options.
ìButî he says, itís going to happen, it is just a matter of when we kick off and which suppliers we chose to representî.
Peters says the decision to expand has been imminent for a while and is the reason the company has expanded its engineering staff and is planning to move into larger custom-built premises later this year.
He says the demand for late model and as-new second hand printing equipment was strong during 2002 with turnover from sales exceeding $13 million dollars.
Included in 2002 sales were a significant number of unused guillotines and very late model presses including two, four, five, five colour plus coater, and six colour machines of varying brands.
ìWe have moved a ton of gear over the past 12 months and there is no sign of business slowing up, we have already signed up $3 million dollars worth of sales for 2003 and all the signs are that this trend will continue.
