Agfa Graphics has released the latest version of its Fortuna security printing design software (version 8).

The company says that Fortuna, designed for use in a number of applications, helps secure and prevent counterfeiting and theft around the world. Printing applications include passports, ID cards, official documents, certificates, tax labelling, and ticketing.

Andy Grant, head of software at Agfa Graphics, says, “With this new version Agfa Graphics strengthens its position as a reliable partner to many government institutions and private industries worldwide. We provide innovative security design tools that help them stay ahead of counterfeiters.”

Fortuna 8, developed in close cooperation with the high-security industry, includes numerous advanced improvements that facilitate the creation of fraud-deterrent security designs.

Agfa says that, by streamlining the PDF file generation in Fortuna 8, it has increased its compliancy with prepress workflows adding that this in turn results in further automation of the production process.
