Agfa says :Acento LF brings the full benefits of digital platemaking at an entry-level investment cost, with reliable platemaking quality.

It achieves this through a new imaging head with an 84-channel laser diode, and has  dependable throughput thanks to simplified mechanical design. It offers imaging speeds up to 11 plates per hour for plates sizes ranging from 450x370mm to 1060x820mm (B1 format). The :Acento LF has semi-automatic plate loading and manual unloading to save further cost and reduce floor space requirements.

Garry Muratore, marketing manager at Agfa Oceania says, “In the main we see the :Acento LF  meeting  an essential  need  in smaller commercial print operations where cost of entry is often a barrier to implementing a digital CTP system. The :Acento LF is aimed at the market that has not yet committed to CTP, however in the more mature  replacement CTP market the faster and more automated Avalon family are generally the engine of preference.

"The new :Acento LF will be available in May 2007.Agfa’s thermal computer-to-plate offering includes a wide range systems, from the 4four-up :Acento II and :Avalon SF through the :Avalon LF and the very-large-format :Avalon VLF. They come in various platemaking speeds and resolutions up to 340lpi screening. The range includes manual; semi-automatic and fully automatic models. Agfa’s thermal plates include :Thermostar P970, :Ampio and the :Energy Elite premium plate as well as ThermoFuse-based, low-chemistry :Amigo and chemistry-free :Azura."
