Organisers have extended the deadline for entries to this year’s Australasian Catalogue Awards ACA Awards.
With entries now open until June 15, the 2018 awards will place a stronger focus on effective retail marketing and some new categories – Point of Sale, Direct Mail, Customer Insights and CSR.
Kellie Northwood, chief executive officer at the ACA, says, “Each year we are seeing brands evolving their catalogues to become more mature and sophisticated in their content, design, layout and printing. As we see the catalogues mature, so do the stories behind them. It’s terrific to see companies getting involved in the new categories – Point of Sale and Instore Display, Corporate Social Responsibility and Customer Insight – showcasing how strong the industry is.”
The entries provide a chance for retailers, large and small, to showcase their best work. The ACA recommends entrants provide the judges with a story behind their campaign. The more information and skills shared, the greater the chance of walking home a winner.
Campaigns must have been created in Australia or New Zealand, however distribution in other parts of the world is also accepted. This year the ACA has launched its first International Awards with New Zealand joining in the open categories and taking on their Australian colleagues.
Samples and reference material must be received by June 15. Judging will take place over two weeks in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland with over 60 judges from creative agencies, retail marketing teams, production and distribution.
The awards night will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 7, with funny-man Dave O’Neil as the master of ceremonies.
Northwood adds, “The ACA Awards began as recognition to Catalogues and is now a true retail marketing awards program recognising Catalogues, Direct Mail, Loyalty, Point of Sale and more across all retail market sectors. From concept to campaign development, photography to production the hard work across the collective industry is builds into a night of nights, when the industry celebrates together its innovation, diversity, creativity and success.
