Out of Home media company JCDecaux has appointed industry veteran Phil Eastwood as general manager for New Zealand.
Andrew Hines, chief operating officer of JCDecaux ANZ, says, “Phil has an extensive background in the Out of Home advertising industry and a proven track record of success. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to JCDecaux. He will have responsibility for driving the company’s strategic vision and continued growth and success in the local market.”
Eastwood has over 25 years of Out of Home experience across management and sales. Over the past decade he has worked across New Zealand and Australia with senior roles at oOh! Media and APN Outdoor. JCDecaux says he possesses a strong understanding of the New Zealand market. In addition, he offers a proven track record in revenue generation. The company adds he has a strategic mindset to capitalise on opportunities.
Hines adds, “Phil’s outstanding leadership qualities and extensive industry knowledge will further strengthen our position in the market. With our keen focus on growing our presence in New Zealand, Phil’s appointment reinforces our capability to grow both revenue and market share, and to take full advantage of significant market opportunities.”
Evolving local market
Eastwood says, “With strong foundations in place and ambitious plans for growth, I’m delighted to be joining JCDecaux New Zealand’s highly regarded team. As the local market evolves, I am confident we are poised to go from strength to strength.”
JCDecaux entered the New Zealand market in 2018 with the acquisition of APN Outdoor in both Australia and New Zealand. Since then, JCDecaux has developed a strong local brand presence with consumers and media agencies. It has invested heavily in digitising the national large format network and has grown its airport offering to three, including Queenstown Airport. The company has over 600 touch points across the country.
