With the arrival of my last President Post, I want to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone I have had the pleasure of working alongside as NZSDA President.
To be honest, I thought I would feel relieved to be handing the presidency on, but I have to admit that a part of me will miss it. Being part of a team that has bought forward some significant initiatives like Master Signmaker and Signee NZ has been a highlight in my career in this great industry. I have really enjoyed my time in the role, and it has taught me plenty as well.
I have had the honour of working with industry greats, sharing and brainstorming ideas to help drive this great association and industry forward. I want to thank my fellow board members past and present.
Melissa Coutts is one special person that I cannot thank enough for her efforts and patience. For everything she does; for all her patience with us; for all her passion for her work; and for just being the awesome person she is.
A very special thanks also to Nick Baty, an ever-reliable rock, full of knowledge and an all-round good person; thanks mate.
The NZSDA Board has an exciting new team and I look forward to working with them as we welcome the challenges ahead. If you want to see change or have any ideas to assist and forward the signage industry and its members, I strongly urge you to look at becoming involved as an advisory board member.
Shae Goom will step into the president role as of July this year, and we look forward to his continued expertise and passion. We will unfortunately be saying goodbye to my long time compadre and fellow brother of the brush Paul Walters who is stepping away from the board after many years of committed service. Thanks for your efforts, Pauly.
Finally, thanks to you, all of our NZSDA members. I love this industry and its people. Not only do I get to do something I love day to day, and get paid for it, but I also get to stand beside some truly great passionate artisans.
I look forward to continuing to see you at our industry events.
