Tharstern cloud native software has moved closer to general availability with the company offering Labelexpo Americas visitors a free three-month trial.
The company launched its cloud native software in 2021. Since then, it has worked with a group of beta customers to create a product that “will transform and modernise the MIS market for label and flexible packaging converters’, according to Tharstern.
Keith McMurtrie, chief executive at Tharstern, says, “‘We’ve created Tharstern Cloud to be so intuitive and easy to use that we’ve removed any cost associated with the on boarding and training process. So, your three-month trial really is free; there are no hidden costs.”
Tharstern will also demonstrate the connectivity built into the MIS product. He continues, “We’ve created Tharstern Cloud using an API First approach. As a result, any data within the MIS can be written and read by any external application at any level. This includes client details, order statuses, shipment information, ink colours; every data object. In today’s technologically connected world, that is pivotal.”
Sector agnostic approach
The software will initially support the label and flexible packaging sectors. Over the coming months, support will be added for the manufacturing methods used in other sectors. This includes carton packaging, wide format and commercial printing.
This is down to the ‘sector agnostic’ approach the software developer has taken when creating the product. It can work with any type of manufacturing process, in any type of sector. This approach supports the growing trend for diversification into other areas of print.
McMurtrie adds, “Tharstern Cloud isn’t just a web application migrated to a Cloud platform. It is built on cloud-native technologies, which means as well as the obvious benefits such as remote working, mobility, and always being up to date, it also offers world class security, availability, and almost unlimited scalability. We’re so excited to be taking Tharstern Cloud to Labelexpo and show visitors what it’s capable of.”
Tresta Keegan, managing director of Tharstern Australasia, says, “We’ll consider it on a case-by-case basis for any Australasian customers, but we’re looking at likely Q1 release for the labelling sector in our local market.”
