Packaging and labels solutions provider Aldus Group has acquired the global entity of Paragon Inks. This follows Aldus Group’s purchase of Paragon Inks Australia.
This acquisition means Aldus Group now has more than 50 per cent of its group sales in Europe. Aldus Group has manufacturing and distribution operations in 15 sites across Europe, the US, Australia and New Zealand.
Frank Floriano, chief executive at Aldus Group, says, “We are pleased to welcome Paragon Inks to the Aldus Group. We acquired Paragon’s Australian distributor in 2017. Since then, we have been extremely impressed with the quality of the Paragon product.”
Financial support and global reach
Founded in Scotland in 1985 with only three staff, Paragon Inks has since grown to 46 staff. It supplies UV inks and varnishes in both local and export markets. Shaun Bennett, managing director at Paragon, sees a number of positives in the acquisition.
He says, “We are excited to join the Aldus Group. It offers financial support and global reach. As a result, we can assure Paragon’s future growth in terms of new products and customers. Importantly, Paragon’s team will remain unchanged. So, we can continue to provide the highest level of service to our customers.”
This acquisition for the global entity of Paragon Inks follows Aldus Group’s purchase of API Foilmakers in March 2020. Since then, Aldus has continued to invest in API. Subsequently, it has seen strong monthly growth as API Foilmakers has re-established its leading position in Europe. Interestingly, both Paragon and API are based in Livingston, Scotland.
Floriano looks forward to working further with the team at Paragon Inks. He concludes, “Upon getting to know the company better, we continue to be impressed with the product quality, customer relationships and the Paragon team. So, we feel confident Paragon will continue to grow and prosper as part of the Aldus Group.”
