New Zealand Printer Magazine, in association with PrintNZ, has called for nominations for the inaugural People in Print Awards and the Rising Star Awards.

Industry members can nominate someone in the industry for achieving excellence, over the past 12 months, in a number of areas that include their work in a particular field of the industry, such as prepress, offset, digital, finishing, design etc; their service to and work in the community; their contribution to sustainability and the environment; or in any other area -that you seen as relevant.

Those nominating will be asked to describe the recent achievements +of their nominee, both personal and professional; their contributions to the industry; innovations; application of the craft and overall leadership where applicable.

Individuals may nominate themselves or a peer, and nominations are welcome from suppliers.

Neither of the awards have a minimum or maximum number of finalists and winners.

New Zealand Printer will contact each nominee to discuss their nomination and entries will only proceed to the next round of judging if the nomination is accepted.

Once the nomination is accepted, the organisers will need a photograph (head shot) of the nominee for the nomination to be officially recognised.

Winners will not be ranked and will be announced in alphabetical order.

On December 1, New Zealand Printer and PrintNZ will host an awards evening at Sorrento in the Park in Auckland to present the awards and to celebrate the winners with family and friends.

Winners and their profiles will be published in the December edition of New Zealand Printer magazine.

Ruth Cobb, chief executive at PrintNZ, says, “PrintNZ is delighted to partner with New Zealand Printer in hosting these awards which will recognise the amazing achievements of the people in our industry – our innovators, influencers and those who inspire others.

“These awards will be nominated by the industry, for those in the industry. (-doublespace) And along with the People In Print presentations, we will be taking the opportunity to update attendees on the Pride In Print Awards and showcase some of this year’s winning work.

“We look forward to hosting a live event this year, providing the industry +with a chance to network and celebrate: we look forward to seeing you there.”

Rising Stars

The Rising Star Awards are an opportunity to recognise and to celebrate newcomers and emerging talent in the industry.

Bruce Craig, editor, New Zealand Printer magazine, says, “One of the industry’s great strengths is the new ideas and initiatives that come through each year.”

He says that feedback from industry members has driven this initiative. He adds, “Over the past three years, we have hosted the New Zealand Printer Power 50 Awards and last year, introduced the Emerging 20 Awards. We thank our Anchor Sponsor, Ricoh New Zealand for steadfastly supporting these events.

“After much consultation with people across the industry, it became clear that we needed a change to better reflect and honour the industry and the people who work in it.

“Virtual events have become the norm, but these awards will feature as one of the few physical industry events that takes place this year.”
