BJ Ball has announced the acquisition of wide format supply specialist Jenrite New Zealand, which it will conducted through BJ Ball subsidiary Aarque Group.
The acquisition forms part of the organisation’s progressive-future strategy. BJ Ball acquired Aarque Group in April 2018. This deal, Aarque Group’s first major purchase since then, will significantly increase the leverage and reach of the organisation by providing access to new products and services.
Leo Bult, chief executive of Aarque Group, explains, “Thanks largely to rapid advancements in technology, growth within the wide format digital print sector has been exceptional in recent years. Aarque Group and BJ Ball recognised this, therefore acquiring Jenrite is a natural progression that allows us to streamline our supply pipeline and increase our added-value offer.
“It is an exciting time for our customers as new opportunities and increased access to the world’s best products and technology leaders will ensure they remain at the forefront of this highly exciting growth sector. And of course, this will come with an unparalleled level of service as we look to enlarge our support structures.”
Steven Kemp, managing director of Jenrite, says, “The highly professional team at Jenrite has built a reputation for providing excellent after sales service and support, reflected through the loyalty of our customers. I am therefore pleased to say that as part of the acquisition, Aarque Group has recognised the valuable contribution of our team, with most transferring across to the new organisation.”
The announcement follows a period of significant strengthening for BJ Ball as the organisation seeks to enhance its position as a leading industry innovator. A merger two years ago with K.W Doggett Fine Paper in Australia resulted in a Trans-Tasman entity Ball & Doggett that is now the largest, most diversified paper, packaging and print media distribution organisation within the region.
More recently, global industry player Japan Pulp and Paper Company (JP) acquired Ball & Doggett the entity, as part of its ongoing strategy to increase its global market presence within the industry and beyond the Japanese market.
