Mutoh has launched the Performance Jet 2508UF, its first 1.22×2.44m UV-LED flatbed printer.
Making its debut at the International Sign Association (ISA) Sign Expo, the largest sign and graphic exhibition in the US, the Mutoh PJ-2508UF targets print shops looking to produce promotional items, directional signage, awards, specialty, labels and packaging prototypes.
Mutoh describes the PJ-2508UF as the latest performance model in flatbed printing with field upgradable head configurations of up to eight sets. The printer has four sets of staggered print heads installed as standard. It offers a maximum resolution of 600 x 1200dp and has an automatic media thickness detector supporting media up to 100mm thick and 50kg per sqm.
Other standard features include an automatic media registration pin system; a vacuum table with a blow-back feature for handling and positioning of heavy media; UV-LED hard ink, available in four or six colours (CMYK or CMYK, white and varnish); and a static elimination system to enable printing on media vulnerable to anti-static electricity.
