Flint Group Flexographic Products has expanded its portfolio, introducing the nyloprint DLE 45 S plate for high-quality pad printing.
The company says that the plate’s thicker relief layer and improved ink transfer makes it well-suited for applications that require a high ink transfer such as printing on toy figures, model trains, golf balls and the imprinting of automotive parts.
Flint Group says other features of the new plate include a particularly good ink lay down in the solid areas and linework compared to aloxide plates and good cup gliding characteristics and stability on press together with an excellent ink transfer – also with closed ink cup systems. Customer tests show the possibility of print jobs with 40.000 impressions without entailing any loss in quality, according to Flint Group.
It offers a screen ruling of 380 lpi for fine detail reproduction. Flint Group says the plates suit all standard laser systems: with CO2, fibre and diode laser systems and also with standard ablation laser systems for flexo and letterpress plates.
The company sees the main advantage of the new plate as easy and fast processing, with only one processing step, the direct laser engraving, necessary to create a finished pad printing plate. It doesn’t need the usual processing steps of exposing, washing, so it avoids defects caused by dust and damaged films and data loss during transfer. Print shops have no further costs for additional consumables such as film and film chemistry.
Flint Group adds that precise and reliable definition of engraving depth results in stable and repeatable print quality and a straight cell geometry leads to improved ink transfer.
