The company reccently hosted the fourth annual Fuji Xerox Inspire event at AUT Business School.
Designed to inspire the next generation of leaders, the event partners Fuji Xerox partnered with the Sir Peter Blake Trust to give 350 secondary students from schools across Auckland the opportunity to hear from inspiring New Zealanders from a variety of backgrounds.
Speakers included All Black Keven Mealamu; Kono NZ chief executive officer Rachel Taulelei; Dr Michelle Dickinson with her superhero alter-ego Nanogirl; and William Pike, a motivational speaker who was critically injured in a volcanic eruption, which resulted in the amputation of his right leg at the knee.
Fuji Xerox managing director Gavin Pollard spoke about the importance inspiring the next generation of leaders, and offering them lessons from a diverse range of role models. He said, “Whether their goals are sports, science, or business oriented, putting these young adults in contact with strong idols is important to help fuel their ambition.
“We were thrilled to have so many talented young people attend the event and hope they feel inspired to create change and successfully lead our future generations.” Students were encouraged to wear the famous Sir Peter Blake red socks to draw attention to Red Socks Day on Friday 8th July. The Inspire event was live-streamed for other aspiring leaders to tune in and participate from anywhere in New Zealand.
Queenstown welcomes Fuji Xerox
Officially opening the company’s new Queenstown branch, Gavin Pollard says Fuji Xerox has entered one of New Zealand’s fastest growing regions.
Located at The Landing, and headed up by Vaughan Love, area sales manager for the Queenstown and Southern Lakes District, the branch has four of its 20 Otago/Southland employees and it has room to grow.
Pollard believes the Queenstown region has great potential for businesses. In front of a giant Fuji Xerox printed poster of the local scenery, he said, “Queenstown is growing faster than anywhere else in New Zealand and it’s important that we have a local branch to provide services to help the development of local businesses and schools as the region grows.”
Rollover arrives to enable self adhesive vinyl applications
Fuji Xerox has now taken over the agency for the Rollover range of vinyl application solutions.
Barrie Pinkney, product manager Wide Format at Fuji Xerox, says, “The Rollover flatbed applicator is beneficial because it dramatically reduces the time required to apply self-adhesive vinyl to a flat substrate such as alupanel or dibond, corflute and foamboard.
For example, if it takes two people 10 minutes to apply a 1200mm x 2400mm print onto alupanel using the traditional wet method, this same job will conservatively take one person only five minutes on a Rollover flatbed applicator.
