PMP has appointed Beacon Media Group head Simon Ellis to the role of managing director in New Zealand.
The appointment takes effect from May 30.

Currently chief executive at Beacon Media Group, Ellis has an extensive background in the printing industry. Prior to this he held a number of roles with APN, now NZME, including northern regional manager.
He began in the industry with Independent Newspapers, now Fairfax, as a management marketing cadet, based primarily out of the Waikato Times and its subsidiary operations in the Waikato/Taupo region. He held a number of management roles across publishing, commercial printing and production roles.
During this time he became involved with the Printing Industries Federation of New Zealand, now PrintNZ. A past president of the Printing Industries Association of Auckland, he has served on the national body of PrintNZ, which made him a life member in 2008.
He currently represents the Bay of Plenty Region for Print NZ and also holds the role of president of New Zealand Community Newspapers Association.
Headquartered in Auckland, with an additional operation in Christchurch, PMP has a yearly turnover of $150m. New Zealand’s largest commercial printing operation, the company also includes Gordon and Gotch magazine distribution.
