Kim Conner, formerly general manager for Canon Consumer Imaging, becomes the first female managing director for the Canon Oceania region as the company makes changes at the top for its management team.
The company has appointed Conner to the role of managing director for Canon New Zealand. Current managing director Yusuke Mizoguchi will, from April 1, take up the position of managing director of Canon Australia/Canon Oceania, based in Sydney. Replacing Taz Nakamasu, Mizoguchi will also assume the responsibilities of chairman of Canon New Zealand and chairman of Canon’s Australian research and development company, CiSRA.
Mizoguchi says he leaves Canon New Zealand in the hands of an exceptional leader and strong management team, a situation that pleases him along with the opportunity to keeping in touch with them in his new role. He says, “Kim
has shown strong leadership, a passion for our brand and its people, making her the best person to help ensure the company continues to be a sustainable business. She has been a wonderful contributor to Canon New Zealand, leading her team through many years of growth, achievement and market share improvement in numerous consumer categories.
“I’m pleased that my role as chairman of Canon New Zealand will enable me to continue to have a relationship with the Canon New Zealand team and I’m looking forward to seeing our planned initiatives for the year rolled out.”
Conner says Mizoguchi has taken Canon New Zealand through a number of changes and has achieved numerous business outcomes during his more than three years leading the company.

We have a great team of passionate people behind the Canon New Zealand brand and we have some solid plans in place to strengthen our position for the coming year and beyond.”
