Earlier this year Konica Minolta also gained an Environmental Choice 'tick' recognising efforts to decrease the impact its products have on the planet.
Environmental Choice New Zealand is a voluntary labelling programme run by the New Zealand Ecolabelling Trust. The programme was initiated by the government and is designed to help consumers find products that minimise adverse environmental impacts from the production, distribution, use and disposal of products. Products gain the environmental tick by using fewer consumables and being energy efficient.
To obtain accreditation, Fuji Xerox had to undergo a rigorous process to ensure its products are environmentally friendly.
"Fuji Xerox New Zealand has always been concerned with environmental sustainability, and now we are taking it a step further to obtain an accreditation that illustrates our commitment to the environment," says Fuji Xerox New Zealand managing director Neil Whittaker.
"We are dedicated to providing innovative solutions that help New Zealand businesses maximise efficiency and drive out cost, while maintaining an obligation to our environment," he added.
Fuji Xerox offers a full cartridge recycling service for customers and its new equipment contains up to 97 per cent recyclable or reusable components.
The accreditation adds to the company's ISO14001 environmental certification awarded four years ago to all of its national branch offices.
