Having had such a long association within the close-knit Heidelberg family, as well as with the company’s customers, Jorden’s loss has had a profound effect. He was greatly respected by colleagues and customers alike.
Heidelberg New Zealand workmate, Alastair Thornton, who knew and worked with Jorden for 15 years, reading a eulogy at the funeral in remembrance of a man who was quiet, dependable, hard-working and highly skilled.
He was also remembered as a devoted family man, husband to Patricia and father of Catherine.
In a note thanking her husband’s colleagues, Patricia Jorden says, “Catherine and I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to those of you who sent cards and flowers as a tribute to Tim. The house looks like a florist shop and it gives us some comfort to know that he was so well thought of. I would also like to thank those people who attended his funeral; it gave us support to have you there. Tim would come home and discuss the jobs he worked on and print companies he worked for and I would nod and make appropriate noises not realising how highly he was esteemed.”
Tim Jorden will be sadly missed by his work mates and all in the print industry who knew him and who worked with him.
