The new European show is a sell out, with over 160 exhibitors from the digital and screen-printing community taking stands. FESPA Digital 2006 will take place on May 16-18 in Amsterdam. The exhibition is focused on the emerging digital technologies in the areas of signs and graphics for a wide variety of applications.
Esko is a world leader of packaging pre-production solutions which include a range of workflow software modules covering the entire supply chain and integrating graphics, structure and project management; flexo Computer-to-Plate systems; cutting & creasing tables for short-run production and sample making in packaging and sign & display markets.
It will display its vision to turns the entire packaging supply chain – from brand owner to retailer – into a straightforward collaborative process, boosting consistent quality while reducing time to market and costs. Part of this total integrated packaging pre-production workflow solution is the Kongsberg digital finishing solution, powerful tables driven by Scope components.
Esko will show the Kongsberg i-XL44 large format finishing table with the powerful MultiCUT toolhead. It features 3 simultaneous combined tools including the high-power precision router and high-frequency oscillating & drag-knife cutting tool inserts.
With the successful integration of the proven MGE i-cut(R) technology, it complements digital or other printing with a unique finishing solution for the widest range of materials with sizes up to 2280 x 3420 mm. The Kongsberg i-XL44 will be demonstrated with a conveyer system combined with an MGE sheet feeder system for continuous material loading for non-stop production.
Esko will also demonstrate the Kongsberg i-XE10 – a complete new, high-speed cutting table for light duty and flexible materials such as vinyl, polyester, polypropylene, polycarbonate, carton up to single flute corrugated board. It is ideally suited for the finishing production of sign & display, decals & labels, boxes and other specialty print applications with size up to 800 x 1100 mm. Continuous production will be shown combined with i-cut(R) and automation features to handle roll and sheet material.
Scope, Esko’s suite of CAD and graphics design and production workflow software, provides the tools of choice for POP and display producers. Scope supports efficient interaction with other partners such as large format digital printers for the short run manufacturing. Scope features many smart tools such as three-dimensional visualization capable of showing the look of the display is before production starts.
Integration of CAD, graphics and 3D features through Esko’s recently introduced ArtiosCAD 7.0 helps designers and operators to reduce errors and to maximize efficiency.
Jef Bogaerts, Esko’s project manager says: “The dramatic growth in the creative use of display graphics has opened up the market for the Kongsberg Series machines.”
Esko has its operational headquarter in Gent, , and employs around 700 people worldwide. R&D and manufacturing facilities are located in Belgium, Germany, Norway, the United States and the Czech Republic. Esko has regional sales and support organizations in a number of countries throughout Europe, North America and the Asia/Pacific region, including Japan and China.
