The first two double-width, single-circumference nine-cylinder satellite presses of the high-performance COLORMAN pressline will go to Verlagsgruppe Passau GmbH and to the Spanish printing company Fabripress S.A., which produces El Mundo, one of the country’s largest dailies.
And, just as timely, news broke concerning the heatset-coldset project for a new Austrian daily at Fellner Medien AG. The highly innovative product is to start next year as the result of the company’s cooperation with MAN Roland and with a specially equipped GEOMAN.
MAN Roland’s motto for this IfraExpo was “Applied Innovations”. The products and services for which the motto stands were the main topics of discussion on the company’s stand, a well-visited place, as usual. The range includes not only added-value solutions for specific segments, using the three MAN Roland brands printcom, printnet and printservices, but also closed-loop systems for end-to-end automation of newspaper printing.
MAN Roland’s presentation in Leipzig took place against the background of an extremely successful business year so far: as of 30 September, the orders booked by the Webfed division amounted to the record value of EUR1 billion – as much as in the total year 2004. Some EUR650 million is accounted for by newspaper system projects.
