Senior producer for Dashwood Design Carmel Bressington says the use of metallic inks on a number of the images included in the programme presented a technical challenge.
She says that to ensure the images achieved the desired result on press Dashwood designers utilised the Kodak Approval XP4 at HQ Imaging to produce the proofs.
ìThis system has the ability to proof true spot colours, Pantone and Hexachrome certified, along with a wide range of metallic colours. We were really impressed at how close the proofs were to the printed sample.î
From stage one of the design work Dashwood designers were in close contact with Brebner Printís prepress team in order to discuss the best methods of achieving the desired final result.
ìMost of the artwork files for the document were supplied to Brebner Print as pdf. The supply of final files as pdf was a new experience for us, but once our systems were set up in conjunction with Brebnerís the process seemed effortless, Ms Bressington says.
The programmes were printed on Brebnerís Heidelberg CD 102 6 colour with coater. Stock was Satin Matt aqueous coated on completion.
Dashwood Design has won a number of prestigious awards for its design work, the most recent being the ëVíB Grade Movie Multipacks for Frucor Beverages where it received awards from London International Advertising Awards, New York Festivals and NZ Best awards.
