At Hunkeler Innovationdays 2025, digital press and prepress supplier Screen GP will present inkjet printing solutions under the theme ‘Powering Print Connections’.
Peter Scott, managing director of Screen GP Australia and New Zealand, will be on the ground at the show. He says, “This will be my third Hunkeler Innovationdays and they get better with every edition, with many ANZ customers in attendance.

“The great thing about this event is its focus on highest volume digital print and finishing. It is definitely ‘big end of town’ for digital printing, both reel and sheetfed. Hunkeler bookends the amazing technology on show with their excellent feeding and finishing technologies covering books, direct mail, pharma, transactional and now even magazine and commercial print thanks to advances in ink and drying. Initial users of Screen’s latest Truepress Jet 560HDX, for example, report results indistinguishable from offset, on the same offset paper stock.”
The biennial event held in Lucerne, Switzerland, Hunkeler’s first since its acquisition by Müller Martini, offers live demonstrations, interactive exhibits, and in-depth discussions with industry experts in high volume digital printing technology.
Screen says that with the motto ‘Powering Print Connections’, its exhibition of the latest technical advancements in digital inkjet printing technology will continue to foster innovative solutions and seamless digital printing workflows for the commercial printing, direct mailing, pharmaceutical and publishing markets.
Screen flagship on show
Screen will feature exclusive technologies that underline its achievements in digital inkjet printing. The company says visitors to the Screen booth will experience a range of solutions designed to elevate print production to new levels.
Screen says its flagship Truepress JET 560HDX combines unparalleled printing precision with seamless finishing equipment integration. It adds that regular live demonstrations will illustrate how the new Truepress SC2 Ink produces dazzling high-resolution 1200 dpi full colour output at productive speeds of 150 metres per-minute, without primers and on offset-coated papers, thus simplifying printing workflows and optimising post-press processing.
These demonstrations will also display advanced variable data printing (VDP) functionality with PDFormstudio workflow software handling design data to highlight its suitability for custom or short-run print on demand book publications. Screen says in depth and sophisticated integrations in tandem with a variety of industry leading finishing equipment, such as the Hunkeler CS8 Roll to Stack Solution, will show visitors an efficient and automated workflow from initial data processing to the final printed product.
Truepress JET 520NX AD
Engineered for transactional and direct mail printing, the Truepress JET 520NX-AD will make its debut at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2025. Live demonstrations will see it printing at 225 metres per-minute. Screen says this press sets a new standard in high speed performance for the transactional printing market.
The Truepress Ink NP, a high-density pigment ink, can bring dense, high-contrast designs and legible text on thin 40gsm substrates. JetInspection, a built in inspection system enables real-time scanning of the entire surface of all pages in a job with customer batch number (CBN) codes printed during production for 100 per cent traceability in the transactional printing market where client confidence and reliability is vital.
Collaborative partnerships
With Hunkeler Innovationdays 2025 highlighting the importance of a smooth, integrated print production workflow, Screen partners with various industry-leaders in print finishing, workflow solution developers, and MIS systems.
IBIS Bindery Systems’ saddle stitch binding system will be on the Screen booth, providing visitors with a window into digital print production, processing printed rolls from various digital inkjet presses as they are saddle stitched and bound, ready for packing and shipping to clients.
Screen will also supply rolls printed on its Truepress JET 520HD+ system with SC+ inks to the Hunkeler and Horizon booths and provide support during both companies’ demonstrations using control barcodes generated by Equios workflow, and showing in real time, the smooth transitions between different jobs within rolls during postprocessing.
Peter says, “Along with the Screen Europe team, I extend a warm welcome to all visitors from ANZ, to come to our stand and experience the ultimate in high volume, sustainable digital printing and finishing.
“As an aside, I have become familiar with the beautiful city of Lucerne and can advise on what to see for first-time HID visitors.
“For high volume and hybrid offset/digital printing businesses, there is no better place to be in the world than Hunkeler Innovation Days – until the next one in 2027.”
Hunkeler Innovation Days takes place at Messe Luzern, Switzerland from February 24–27.
