This year’s Printopia Festival of Original Print will run from May 2-4 at the Corban Estate Arts Centre in Auckland.
The show welcomes everyone interested in original printing, offering a mix of demonstrations, workshops, live printing, and a print fair.
Festival founder and organiser Ina Arraoui says, “With an outstanding line-up of artists, this year’s Printopia will provide a range of workshops, with something for everyone. We look forward to celebrating and supporting our print community.
“Once again, Printopia will feature engaging talks about print as well as demonstrations where attendees can gain an insight into contemporary printmaking in Aotearoa.
We are thrilled to have returning guests Toi Whakaata Māori Printmaking Collective, who will open the artist presentations on Saturday 3 May at 10:15am. Vanessa Edwards, Alexis Neal, Gabrielle Belz, Faith McManus, an d Jasmine Horton will build on concepts of Whakawhanaungatanga – connections and relationships by speaking to experiences and connections abroad. They will explore questions such as How do we connect? What does that look like and how does it benefit us? What is the aim and how do we maintain those relationships?
