At its monthly meeting in February, the PacPrint 09 board heard from organisers Reed Exhibitions that exhibitors remained enthusiastic about the show and stand confirmations were holding up in challenging economic times. More than 130 exhibitor representatives attended briefing meetings held in Melbourne and Sydney the same week. Organisers say the enthusiasm and resolve of companies involved in the show was palpable.

Alastair Hadley, chairman PacPrint 09, says, “We have been greatly encouraged by the continuing positive attitude of both exhibitors and intending visitors, who remain convinced that PacPrint 09 will provide them with an outstanding opportunity to prepare themselves for the challenges facing us all. There is no question that the outlook is for testing times ahead. But the strong message we are getting from both exhibitors and registered visitors for PacPrint 09 is that the show will provide a vital opportunity to gather information and equip our businesses in the best possible way to face those challenges.”

Organisers say a number of companies announced their intention to release totally new products at the show, while others looked forward to the opportunity to showcase drupa release technology for the first time to many visitors from around the region, and all expressed the view that PacPrint will provide an even more vital forum for the industry.

Underpinning the confidence of the exhibitors is the visitor registration numbers, which currently sit at, or just above, the level received for PacPrint 05.

Following on from its success in 2005, PrintNZ will host a special kiwi function at the event.
