Epson has unveiled a range of digital label printers at Labelexpo in Belgium.

The company says it offered the broadest selection of label printing solutions to meet the most diverse range of label production needs, compared with any other manufacturer today.

hall5 Labelexpo-rzdProducts include handheld label makers for office, construction and retail, desktop colour label printers for in-house on-demand applications, wide-format printers for specialist label production, UV and aqueous inkjet presses for higher-volume industrial applications.

The company says each printer and press is designed by Epson for a particular application with hardware, printheads and ink optimised to deliver the best possible performance, the company says.

Epson says the show’s highlights include the seven-colour SurePress L-4033AW: a compact and flexible label press that enables production of high quality, premium-value labels, in short production runs.

The company says it uses low cost aqueous ink to produce labels with high resolution, outstanding and accurate colour. Ink adheres to a wide variety of industry standard label substrates, including clear and metallic film, without the need for pre-treatment and dries to be moisture and abrasion resistant.

The second star item at the Expo is the new SurePress L-6034VW, which features Epson’s latest PrecisionCore linehead and LED-cured UV ink technology.

The company says the L-6034VW is designed for production of durable general-purpose and specialist labels. It combines a compact size with simple operation to enable rapid and cost-effective turnaround on short to medium print jobs. It produces outstanding image quality with a 4-colour ink set that has an extended gamut.

It incorporates an additional high-opacity white ink as well as an advanced in-line digital varnish that can be applied in a variety of ways to enhance label durability even further while also adding to presentation value, Epson says.

This single-pass label press, the company says, provides the ideal solution for localised consumer product manufacture as well as repackaging; now commercialised with several installations already completed.
