HP says its new labels and packaging solutions, aimed at mass customisation, will allow printers to capitalise on the growing digital market.

The company launched the new products, which include features and upgrade packages as well as software enhancements, at Labelexpo 2015, in Brussels.

The company says that, with mounting pressure from brands to deliver differentiated, high-quality labels and packaging at faster turnaround times, converters and printers may look for new avenues for growth and expansion. It says the new HP Indigo cross-portfolio innovations allows its customers to stay ahead of the market.

The HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Press boasts new features that include a colour automation package, a new digital colour matching solution that uses the press’s inline spectrophotometer, and new HP Indigo labels and packaging print server capabilities powered by Esko. HP says other features include the new HP ElectroInk fade resistant ink set and enhanced media versatility, ease of use, and lower cost of operation with the new Michelman DP680 Primer.

HP adds that the HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Press also integrates with digital workflow solutions, including web-to-print solutions designed for labels and packaging product ordering, as well as new proofing, pre-press and automation tools.

The HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press upgrade package includes a new slitter, reinsertion capabilities and HP ElectroInk White for shrink sleeves. The HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press upgrade package features new options for metallised substrates as well as reinsertion capabilities.
