The breakfast event will unpack new insights into New Zealand’s shifting consumer behaviours and highlight how print businesses can leverage the enduring power of print in a digitally fatigued world.

Keynote speaker, Kellie Northwood, chief executive officer at VMA, says, “This is more than a research launch, it is a wake-up call. Our findings clearly show that New Zealanders continue to trust and prefer print when communicating with brands and retailers.

“From household decision-making to retail and government communications, consumers are pushing back against digital fatigue and welcoming tangible, credible print media. Now is the time to sell print with confidence.

Ruth Cobb, chief executive PrintNZ

“This is about arming our industry with the insights and tools to thrive. The print channel is powerful, and it is up to us to tell that story convincingly, this session helps do exactly that.”

PrintNZ surveyed Kiwis in across the country earlier this year to obtain the data for the research.

Ruth Cobb, chief executive officer, PrintNZ, says, “Having up to date data to support what we already know, that print is both effective and sustainable, gives us the perfect platform to promote print from a position of strength.

“We look forward to sharing these insights with our members.”

Eric Holtsmark, managing director Konica Minolta New Zealand

The VMA and PrintNZ thank Konica Minolta for its strong and continued support of professional development and thought leadership within the print industry. Eric Holtsmark, managing director at Konica Minolta New Zealand, adds, “At Konica Minolta, we are proud to partner with the VMA and PrintNZ to shine a spotlight on print’s unmatched ability to cut through digital noise.

“‘Hot Off the Press: Why Print Still Reigns’ brings the latest New Zealand consumer insights that reaffirm the trust, tangibility and sensory appeal only print can deliver, empowering our industry to convert digital fatigue into opportunity and drive real world impact.”

Backed by quantitative data and behavioural insights, the session will explore:

  • The resilience of print across business sectors.
  • Why trust in traditional media is rising.
  • How to sell print effectively in a disrupted and increasingly digital-first market.
  • The environmental edge of print – debunking myths and presenting facts.
  • The sensory power of embellishments and tactility in building brand recall.
