Melbourne-based Australian Graphic Services (AGS) will be the exclusive agent for Kompac, selling and servicing for UV/aqueous coating systems, consumables and parts, in Australia and New Zealand.
AGS provides services, consumables, equipment sales and spare parts to the printing industry nationally. Peter Farmer, director of international sales, Kompac says, “We believe that AGS is the ideal partner for Kompac. AGS is a service based company, which is exactly what we were looking for. It can develop and support the Kompac range of equipment and distribute our spare parts throughout Australia and New Zealand.”
Ross Gilberthorpe, equipment sales and marketing manager, AGS, says “Kompac products are unlike anything else in the market. It is a worldwide company based in the USA that has been in the industry for many years. It has reinvented itself by creating an entire range of coating systems for both offset and digital printers.
“A lot of printers might need to go from one coating to another, say, aqueous to UV. The time change for this would normally be up to an hour, but with Kompac’s systems it can be done in five minutes. For a digital printer with short runs, that might require different coatings for different jobs, the Kompac coating systems can be changed quickly, saving a lot of time.
“Consistency and quality when coating is important, and this is what sets Kompac apart.”
The official launch will be held March 30-31, where AGS will be demonstrating the EZ Koat 20 Plus at an open house at its Melbourne head office.
Kompac claims its coating and curing systems provide a quick and easy way to apply UV, aqueous, primer and specialty coatings to a wide variety of substrates including those that are digitally printed.
