Epson rates gold for sustainability
Assessment places Epson in the top three per cent of companies for overall sustainability

Epson has received a gold rating for overall sustainability by independent platform EcoVadis for the second year in succession.

The top rating acknowledges Epson as being outstanding in both the environment and sustainable procurement categories and highlights its excellent achievement in labour, human rights and ethics.EcoVadis, an independent and collaborative platform, uses a CSR assessment methodology that measures over 50,000 organisations across 190 industry sectors in 150 countries.

The process to achieve the ranking included reviewing and assessing Epson in terms of its people, processes and platforms, which resulted in outstanding recognition of its policies, actions and results in environment and sustainable procurement, placing Epson in the top three per cent of companies for overall sustainability.Epson says it has ingrained sustainability deeply in its management philosophy, describing it as an integral driver of Epson's innovation and a key factor in how it works with its partners across the supply chain.

The company is also committed to the UN's sustainable development goals. Epson says its commitment to sustainability is reflected in its product range including inkjet printers, which reduce waste and energy consumption; projectors and robotics systems, which are all grounded in the proprietary sho sho sei, or efficient, compact and precision technologies that Epson has refined over the years.
