Durst Oceania recently opened the doors to its newly launched premises, inviting its partners to the premises.

Matt Ashman, managing director for Durst Oceania, heads up the new office in Melbourne. Durst Group chie executive and co-owner Chrisoph Gamper and its head of service Christian Casazza travelled from Europe for the launch. Gamper says, “This is a very important market for us and Durst is about its people. Having Matt here, who has worked with us for more than 10 years, has enabled us to further service this region and customers directly.

“Labels and packaging is growing here, just like it is all around the world. For us, this means new opportunities arising and there is still a lot that we can bring to the market – not just from the machines side but also the software, portfolio, and optimisation sides.That’s what we are going to focus on for the next few years.”

The company looks  forward to grwoing its business. He adds, “Durst is a 100 per cent independent company, and we want to stay 100 per cent independent. We’re not striving to go public even if we have market giants knocking on our doors every day. We have been in operation this way for about 80 years and we intend to operate like this in the future, even if it means that we have to reinvent our business – we have done so four times in our existence and are in our fifth revolution now. We strive to be here and stay.

“We’re here to support our customers to be the best that they can be in servicing this region – to be the service provider, not just a machine pusher, and help their customers to prosper and grow,” he mentioned.

“This will fall back in a positive way across the whole organisation. And print isn’t going away; it will play a pivotal role going forward so our customers can expect from us lots of innovation and tools that will help their customers stay ahead in the near future.”
