MetroWrapz of Hollywood, Florida, has won the Avery Dennison King of the Wrap World title for the second consecutive year with its ‘Creature from the Wrap Lagoon’ wrap, which it placed on a 2017 Nissan Acura NSX.

The MetroWrapz took its inspiration for the wrap from the 1954 film. The applicators used Avery Dennison Conform Chrome Silver Film with DOL 1370 Lustre laminate to create a shiny silky skin, with amphibian hues of yellow and green.

The wheels received a finishing touch with Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film ColorFlow Series in Gloss Fresh Spring and Metrowrapz placed rippling swamp water along the rocker panels and added accents of red reflective, and a custom cut acrylic dorsal fin on the roof.

The King of the Wrap World award was presented at the Avery Dennison booth during the 2019 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada and marks the end of Avery Dennison’s global 2019 Wrap Like A King TM Challenge which received 155 entries from around the world. All entries were judged based on the difference between the before and after pictures, installation skill and quality, overall look and appeal, and uniqueness.

The People’s Choice Award went to Wrapcar Grey Matt by Genus Cars, gaining the most votes out of a total of 30,000. Genus wrapped a Mercedes Benz using Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film in Matte Grey.

The continent finalists were Winguard Paint Protection Specialists from Australia/New Zealand; WrapStyle Shanghai DC Town Auto Service, North

Asia; and Sharpline Signs and Graphics, South Africa. The prize package for MetroWrapz includes a personalised Wrap Like a King trophy, US$1,000 in gift vouchers, and a variety of promotional and marketing tools and exposure via the Avery Dennison web site and social media. The entire prize has a valued close to US$5,000.
