PrintNZ organises this annual event, which gives print industry members a chance to play some golf, catch up with each other and to make new friends in the print community. Ruth Cobb, general manager of PrintNZ, says, “We are really looking forward to another enjoyable day of golf and fellowship in Palmerston North.

The event works as a fundraiser for the Trust held in Reg Dixon’s name. The Trust uses the funds to provide education and training opportunities for the industry in the Manawatu. Reg Dixon died a hero after trying to rescue trapped passengers from an Ansett jet that crashed near Palmerston North on June 9, 1995. Reg was seriously burned and passed away from those injuries two weeks after the crash.

A Trust Fund, subsequently set up in Reg’s name, continues to help industry members in the area. Each year, golfers meet in the region in his memory with players coming from as far afield as Auckland.

The golf day can’t take place without sponsors and the organisers thank everyone who has helped. Sponsors list:

BJ Ball Papers
