This year, we will celebrate the New Zealand Printer Power 50 alongside a new entrant to the awards with the new Emerging 20 added to recognise the contributions of the industry’s newcomers.

The New Zealan Printer Power 50 pays homage to the leaders and innovators in the New Zealand printing industry who make it what it is today and guide it into the future. The Emerging 20 is designed to recognise those who have joined the industry in the last five years and made an impact.

The nominations have opwned for both categories and we encourage you to enter as many people as you like.

This year, we are honoured to have Ruth Cobb, general manager of PrintNZ with. Ruth has agreed to chair the panel. She says, “PrintNZ is proud to be involved in the New Zealand Printer Power 50 and to lead the judging panel. This event is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the people in our industry that are influential in the success of the businesses they work in and make a positive contribution to our industry. They are continuously looking for opportunities to develop new products, grow their people and promote our industry and we believe that is worthy of celebration.

“In the same way that we celebrate our Apprentice of the Year, the New Zealand Printer Power 50 celebrates the substantial talent that has helped shape our industry and are setting a pathway for those that are just beginning.

“We are proud to support our industry and the people that make it great. Our thanks to both New Zealand Printer Magazine and Ricoh New Zealand who have supported this initiative in New Zealand from the start.”

Nominations will close on Friday October 11.

The nomination form will also include a section for any members of the industry that would like to join the judging panel so we encourage as many of you to take part as possible to ensure the nominations are examined by a wide variety of industry professionals.

Judges and their company names will be published in the Power 50 edition of New Zealand Printer in November 2019.

As was the case in 2018, independent auditing firm PKF New Zealand will review the votes awarded by the panel to determine the final peer-voted top 50 for both groups.

A cocktail party style event will take place on November 7, 2019 to name the Power 50 and Emerging 20 with everyone concerned, and the judging panel invited

Last year’s event took place in Ponsonby and everyone who attended had a great time (see the pics on our website). This year, the event will culminate at The Glasshouse in Morningside, Auckland on November 7.

Craig adds, “The New Zealand printing industry boasts the quality of people who deal with constant change and upheaval, yet they continue to push the boundaries and over achieve in so many ways. Everyone in this industry deserves a chance to celebrate and share in their success.

He concludes, “If anyone has any other questions in relation to the New Zealand Printer Power 50, please call me on 021 631 559 or email bruce@newzealandprinter.co.nz.
