UPM Raflatac has unveiled its new Raflex MDO film, describing it as a perfect fit for conformable and squeezable containers.

The company says the new film balances the best performance properties of PP and PE for functionality and shelf appeal. Bruce Ruppert, manager for product development at UPM Raflatac America, says, “Our new Raflex MDO films offer exceptional on-press performance with enhanced conformability. Squeeze after squeeze, these clear and white materials are a perfect fit for keeping your branding intact throughout the product life cycle.”

The films add to the company’s existing range of conformable films. It says manufacturers can forget about creasing and darting that distort graphics because the machine-direction oriented polyolefin film offers excellent conformability and squeezability on contoured containers, while preserving the stiffness of a standard gauge clear polypropylene for consistent application and converting.

UPM Raflatac adds that Raflex MDO films suit thicker-width bottles that present twice the amount of curve (when compared to flat panel wall-to-wall squeezable containers) and those that require a full squeeze at the bottom of the bottle. Available in clear and white with RP74 adhesive and both paper and film liners, Raflex MDO films have application for a variety of end-uses including food, beverage, and personal care.
