Admark, Hamilton’s multi-award winning print company, has added to its reputation for completing difficult projects with the completion of a giant wrap for the iconic silo at the Tatua Co-operative Dairy Company in Morrinsville

In 2013, Admark printed and applied the original graphics to the silo, which became a local landmark and a focal point of the company’s marketing campaign. Unfortunately, early in June, an air vent malfunction during routine manufacturing operations resulted in the silo imploding and needing replacement.

The owners called in Admark again to print and apply the replacement graphics. The company printed the graphics at its Hamilton-based factory on a Vutek UV flatbed hybrid printer onto 140 square metres of 3M Comply self-adhesive cast vinyl. It laminated the image with 3M cast gloss. The Admark team finished the print into five columns of nine drops; 45 drops in total. It took about one and a half days to print.

Admark’s application team, Phil Middletton and Mat Whibley, applied the graphics to the silo at the premises of Hendl & Murray, local engineers in Hamilton, over a period of two days. A truck transported the reimaged silo to its final destination in Morrinsville.

Colin Birch, chief executive at Admark, says, “At Admark, we take a great deal of pride in being involved in the restoration of such an iconic landmark. Special thanks to Hendl & Murray for the use of their premises for application and to Nicole at Tatua for allowing us to use the photos and video imagery we took.”

Admark has won numerous national and international awards for printing excellence, scoring three gold and three highly commended at this year’s Pride In Print Awards. Its work includes labels; large-format, vehicle and fleet graphics; durable screen printed graphics; and digitally printed graphics.

Since its inception in 1972, the company has grown to employ around 55 staff and has it head office and factory is in Hamilton with offices in Tauranga, Rotorua, Auckland and Wellington, and an office and factory in Sydney, Australia.
