The book d4p will be launched at PacPrint from National Printing Laboratory stand 807 on Wednesday 25 May 11.30 am

The book is the result of many discussions with designers and printers who have horror stories about jobs that went wrong, and how they could have been prevented.

Due to the rise in functionality of design software, graphic designers are now able (and expected) to perform many highly technical prepress functions from the desktop. Many, however, have limited understanding of the technical issues facing printers attempting to bring their designs to fruition.

Researched and edited by Astrid Sweres, d4p focuses on de-mystifying production issues between the concept and final printed piece, whatever technology or substrate is used. It offers tips for overcoming every problem listed as well as containing a useful alphabetical glossary for instant reference. These ‘tips of the trade’ are the distillation of many years’ experience, and will really help designers to put their best foot forward in print.

*PACPRINT OFFER

The book will sell for $52.50 RRP, but PacPrint visitors can purchase it on the NPL stand 807 for the special price of $49.95. There will also be a daily draw at 3pm to win a free copy plus a limited edition d4p T-shirt.
