With annual sales of A$1.33billion PMP Limited is one of the world’s largest printers and is recognised as a high-quality, high volume printer of the regions top magazines, catalogues, retail inserts and directories.

PMP’s decision to implement DiMS! across all its plants is part of a strategic commitment to continual improvement; Malcolm Shield, Project Sponsor, PMP said: “as the market leader we need to constantly challenge ourselves to optimise our operations; be more efficient in all areas of sales, customer service and production; and finally, we need to operate our plants in a totally integrated manner in order to maximize our available capacity. We searched around the world, beginning at Drupa 04, for the system and company most able to meet our needs. After extensive workshops and pilot installations we are confident that we have found our partner in DiMS! organizing print.”

Gerard Marneth, CEO, DiMS! organizing print commented: “We are delighted to have entered into a partnership with PMP Limited. From our very first meeting with PMP Limited we had an understanding and synergy enabling us to work very closely with PMP. DiMS! and PMP staff have worked very hard for the last few months in order to put the system through its paces and to ensure that PMP will be able to achieve it’s business objectives. PMP’s goal to improve almost every aspect of their business to a world-class standard, with respect to quality and speed but also at the lowest cost, makes the two companies natural allies. The DiMS! product fits the PMP’s business needs like a glove. Our two companies are very excited in having started a long lasting partnership.”

The project will include the implementation of all DiMS! software functionality including: Sales Estimating, Order Management, Production Scheduling, Shop Floor Data Collection, Direct Machine Interface, Shipping and Billing. Interfaces will be made to JD Edwards Financial systems and a JDF interface will be used to communicate with the Pre-Press systems including Creo’s systems.
