Integrated production facilities for the packaging and commercial segment – with JDF once again a core component – will be the centrepiece for a Manufacturing Integration Centre in the PrintCity Hall 1 at IPEX from April 4-11, 2006. PrintCity will cover nearly 5,000 square metres at IPEX and will be sited next to the main entrance to the showground.

Joint presentations by PrintCity members on complete workflow will include all elements from pre-press to converting, as well as product-orientated presentations from participating companies.

PrintCity also has consulting areas that will cater for key areas of interest – for example, Value Added Printing and Web Offset Production – in its Competence Centres at the show. There will be high value print sample products and other material to illustrate integrated competence.

Visitors to the Integration Centres within PrintCity’s Hall 1 will be shown other technological advances that PrintCity is developing through its networking and partnerships, which will include colour management and brand protection, as well as other projects currently being developed.

John Dangelmaier, President of PrintCity, said: “We have now completed a number of important projects within the graphic arts industry, which have produced significant results.”

He added: “IPEX will be the next important showcase, another big step forward for PrintCity and will give our member companies the opportunity to demonstrate in a real and practical way some of the world-leading solutions that have been developed, many through the networking and expertise within PrintCity.”

Rainer Kuhn, Managing Director of PrintCity, said: “These are exciting times within PrintCity and, once again, we will have highly integrated systems that will all come under the umbrella of our “Smarter” PrintWorks branding.”

Many PrintCity members and associates already have JDF-powered products on the market. PrintCity’s production lines, managed and supervised from the Integration Centre, will clearly show how true connectivity is being achieved, without locking customers in to a single supplier.

What PrintCity is demonstrating at IPEX will be again supporting the strategic alliance’s key objectives, which are:-

· Enabling its members to combine in working partnerships and projects to provide value to their customers through the integration of technology and worldwide expertise.
· Promoting the value of print as a media to generate increased demand.
· Promoting networking within the whole industry to stimulate worldwide co-operation among all partners
