EFI’s seventh annual users’ conference will take place April 30 to May 3, 2006 in Las Vegas and the special Chizen keynote will be held on Monday, May 1 at 5 p.m.

Connect is a four-day user conference unmatched among print industry events for its expert-level sessions on print topics, ground-breaking technologies and keynote sessions by the industry’s top influencers. Using a “fireside chat” format, EFI CEO Guy Gecht will get to know Chizen in a no-holds barred interview on Adobe’s direction and the forces, challenges and opportunities facing their business and the imaging industry.

As CEO of Adobe, Chizen’s customer-focused vision has transformed Adobe into one of the world’s largest and most diversified software companies in terms of revenue, global reach and breadth of products. During the past five years, Chizen has more than doubled Adobe’s revenue and transformed a company known mainly for its popular design products into one of the most significant forces in the software industry today. Under Chizen’s leadership, Adobe recently acquired Macromedia, Inc. in a $US3.4 billion transaction that brings together some of the industry’s strongest software brands and most ubiquitous technologies, accelerating Adobe’s strategy to provide a powerful software platform that scales from mobile devices to enterprise servers.

Based on past conferences, EFI expects more than 1000 attendees at Connect 2006, including EFI customers, industry partners, media and analysts. An estimated 160 sessions over the four-day conference will span topics ranging from MIS executive tools, to fulfillment and mailing operations as well as training sessions on maximising MIS system investment, with a focus on areas such as report writing, finance, inventory management and estimating. This year there will also be practical sessions focused on growing profits with super-wide format digital inkjet printing, on-demand digital printing and variable data printing.
