The ‘multi-layer’ screening algorithm addresses problems common to inkjet printing including banding and graininess of printed images. These are essentially a mechanical phenomena that HP Scitex has found a way around through using its proprietary software.

The new technology was launched at FESPA Digital for the first time and Dov Ofer, general manager of HP Scitex says: “There is no doubt that by using the ‘multi-layer,’ our ‘skin tone’ printing results are reaching an even higher level of quality digital print.

“Providers are in a highly competitive market, and features like ‘multi-layer’ screening can make an important difference”.

The HP Scitex XL1500 offers high quality wide format print in 2m, 3m and 5m widths. With speeds up to 124m2/hr at resolutions up to 370 x 740dpi and the ability to print in four, six, and eight colours, offering speed, quality and versatility.

HP’s presence at FESPA Digital covered not only HP Scitex but also HP Indigo and HP large format printers. HP Scitex exhibited a five-metre HP Scitex XL1500 and an HP Scitex TJ8300.
